The Filipino team members included Anthony Felix Abogado, Miguel Carmelo Artiaga, Jelah Caceres, Venus Jesoro, Sandy Thea San Carlos, Kristine Joy Belgica, and Kristian Leonard Orante.
Aboagdo was also named best anchor, Orante best reporter, and Jesoro second best reporter; furthermore, the team’s infomercial placed first.
Matching the radio broadcasters’ victory were five first placers in the individual events. They were the following: Diosa Bernadette Retig, news writing (Filipino); Ramon Gian Bron, sports writing (English); Kendra Ivana Sy, photojournalism (English); Ma. Khryster Lee Bellen, copy reading and headline writing (English); and Jayson Sime Jeremias, copy reading and headline writing (Filipino).
In addition, the delegation achieved three second places courtesy of Joseph del Rosario (photojournalism—Filipino), Fritz Ivan Altavano (sports writing, Filipino), and Arianne Pequeña (editorial writing—English).
Maria Feona Imperial is the last regional qualifier after placing third in news writing—English.
The students were coached by Mr. Jerry Noveno and Mrs. Erma Bue. Mr. Martin Brutas, Jr. was also with the group to provide assistance.
The abovementioned winners will join in the regional finals on November 9-12, 2010 at Marcial O. Rañola Memorial School in Guinobatan, Albay.
Pisay-Bicol has been joining in the press conference where it was first runner-up overall in the division level for three straight years. This year, the school matched its championship finish in the 2009 edition at San Fernando National High School, San Fernando, Camarines Sur.
