The Bicol Scholar, the official school publication of the Philippine science High School – Bicol Region Campus (PSHS-BRC), grabbed the “Best Feature Page”award and was dubbed as the sixth best school paper in the country during the 2011 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held at Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, April 11-15, 2011.
Alongside with the distinction, Mr. Jerry M. Noveno, adviser of said publication, received a trophy and a certificate of recognition.
The Bicol Scholar was included in the Bracket A category in which, publications should be in tabloid size with 16 pages and above.
Said winning feature page depicts the different tourist spots throughout the region.
It could be noted that The Bicol Scholar is the only school paper from Bicol Region to get an award in the national group contest category.
