The summer heat does not stop the Pisayanos from being the best, as demonstrated in the National Schools Press Conference held at Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on April 9-13, 2012, where the best young journalists of the country fought it out to prove worthy of their titles.

The campus’ paper, The Bicol Scholar, has garnered first and third place in the sports page and best layout categories, respectively. Also, it has earned the title of Outstanding School Paper. In the individual contests, Kendra Ivana Sy earned third place in Photojournalism (English), and the honor of being an Outstanding Campus Journalist to boot. Khryster Lee Bellen also comes third in  Tagisan ng Talino.

Both Sy and Bellen won first place with other selected journalists from Region V in collaborative publishing.

Other contestants were Jayson Sime Jeremias (Copyreading Filipino), Khryster Lee Bellen (Copy Reading English) and Julia Mae Casupang (Newswriting English). Accompanying them were Mr. Jerry Noveno, adviser of The Bicol Scholar, Ms. Erma Bue, adviser of Arab-adab and Ms.  Mylene Oliver, an English teacher.
