Noveno, Bellen, outstanding school paper adviser and campus journalist; PSHS-BRC wins laurels in RSSPC Featured

Bicol Scholar

Mr. Jerry M. Noveno, the Bicol Scholar adviser, prevailed as the Outstanding School Paper Adviser defeating other aspirants in the Bicol Region. He won the said award after his laudable efforts and determination that contributed to the many awards and recognitions of the school paper and his leadership and contributions to the society as well. Ma.Khryster Lee M. Bellen, on the other hand, bagged the Outstanding Campus Journalist having been a consistent contestant in copy reading and headline writing, representing the school and even the Bicol region in the national press conference for four consecutive years. Bellen will again compete in the nationals comes April 2013 in Ormoc City.  She is the campus’ paper editor-in-chief. Noveno and Bellen were awarded during the Regional Secondary Press Conference II held on February 6-8, 2012 at Tabaco National High School, Tabaco City.

Jan Camille Ozaeta also won 2nd place in the photojournalism English and that automatically made her a national contestant in the said event. The campus’s school paper, The Bicol Scholar was also recognized as the Best School Paper and Best in News Page. Arab-adab, on the other hand, the Filipino school paper, landed 8th in the Best School Paper category.

Other winners in the Regional Secondary Press Conference were the: Radio Broadcasting Team (Filipino), 2nd place, Radio Broadcasting Team (English), 3rd place and Collaborative Publishing Group (English), 3rd place.
