Pisay-Bicol turns 12 today Featured

THE PHILIPPINE SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL – BICOL REGION CAMPUS, WHICH HAS become a formidable institution of learning not only in Bicol but in the entire country as well,is celebrating its 12th year of foundation, today, October 29, 2010.

Alongside the celebration is the conduct of presentations of each class, which aim to showcase the achievements of the campus in its 12 years of providing quality education to hundreds of Bicolanos and even scholars beyond Bicol’s geographical boundaries.

Currently, the celebration is being highlighted by the launching of the school’s official website.

In relation to the celebration, the school also held the third Inter-School Science Challenge joined in by grade school pupils from various elementary schools in Partido area.

This morning, the parents also elected the officers of the General Parents and Teachers Association (GPTA), the holding of which was postponed during the first card giving of the present school year.

In the afternoon, a mass will be conducted, followed by the presentations of each class, which will be a form of a musical play exhibiting the scholars’ talents in singing, dancing, and acting. Established in 1998, the PSHS-BRC started with only 27 students, but now houses 311 scholars from Bicol, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, and the National Capital Region.

The Campus used to be located inside the San Rafael National High School, Tigaon, Camarines from 1998-2000, then at the Partido State University from 2000 – 2002, and finally in its permanent campus at Tagongtong, Goa, Camarines Sur.

The Campus was established by virtue of R.A. 8304 authored by Camarines Sur Fourth District Representative and House Deputy Speaker Arnulfo Fuentebella, who happens to be celebrating his birthday today.
