PSHS-BRC faculty, staff join in “Drag-on-Boat” gab

Breaking in from the usual dragon boat competitions held on water, the Philippine Science High School – Bicol Region Campus (PSHS-BRC) faculty and staff joined in the Drag-on-Boat race held on land last September 1, 2011 at the school’s auditorium.

Said activity was in line with the 11th Civil Service Anniversary which seeks to honor the people served by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Away from their daily routine, the school’s workforce was divided into two groups, A and B, which competed in the games during the said event.

In cited Drag-on-Boat contest, team A won by a 9.8 second-lead from Team B. The race was conducted by three pushers at the back, four paddlers on its sides and a drummer in front.

Aside from Drag-on-Boat, the teams also vied for the basketball and volleyball championships. Team A ended up as victor in both events.

A fun run kicked off the event participated in by the faculty, staff and interested students.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Elsie G. Ferrer, Campus Director, emphasized the significance of responsible and excellent workers for the progress of the nation.

The theme for the undertaking was “Championing R.A.C.E.: Public Service Excellence at Full Speed.”
