Bagnes and Roxas sweep awards in international language olympiads
Pisay-BRC scholars won gold and silver awards in two international language competitions based on the results released on March 29 and April 5, 2022.
Participated by students in the entire Philippines, Sophia Bianca Therese F. Bagnes (Grade 11) and Svetlana Viktoria C. Roxas (Grade 9) notched the gold awards in the HIPPO International Language Olympiad Preliminary Round.
Roxas ranked 1st among the gold awardees in category 4, while Bagnes ranked 4th in category 5.
A week after their feat in HIPPO, Bagnes bagged a gold award and Roxas secured a silver award in the Eurasian Spelling Bee Lexical Skills Competition.
Bagnes ranked 3rd among the gold awardees in category 10, while Roxas ranked 2nd in the silver award in category 8.
The Hippo Olympiad is an international contest that promotes English language, while Eurasian Spelling Bee Lexical Skills Competition aims to promote Lexical skills in the English language and challenge students from countries where English is taught as a foreign language.
